Kea'au Beach Park
About this site
Keaʻau Beach Park stands as a prime choice for oceanfront camping on O'ahu's shores. With numerous camp sites (permit required), picnic tables, showers, and bathrooms, it offers a comfortable camping experience. The park features a vast grassy area and shaded spots beneath trees, creating an inviting atmosphere. However, be prepared for the presence of roosters from the neighboring property. While charming initially, the crowing might become a potential nuisance. Although not ideal for extensive beach activities, the campsite boasts a grassy and rocky oceanfront area, with a larger sandy beach at the north end. Swimming can be challenging due to a rocky shelf along the shoreline, making it less suitable for water play. Surfers, particularly those with experience, frequent the area, enhancing its appeal for those seeking a coastal camping retreat. Additional Info: Permits required through Honolulu DPR camping system, $10 per day plus fees. Community restrooms and showers available.
