Papalaua Wayside Park (also known as Papalaua Wayside Beach Park) is a beachfront county park on Maui's west coast near Lahaina, offering tent camping along the sandy shore with excellent snorkeling. Shade from kiawe trees. Portable toilets and BBQ grills available. No showers, drinking water, or electrical hookups. Camping closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays for maintenance. Permits required on first-come, first-served basis from Maui County office; non-residents pay $50-100/adult, $6-12/minor per night. Drive-up access to sites; tent camping only.
