Public campground offered by Kauai County, $3 per person per night. Large grass lawn on the beach where you are allowed to pitch tents. Additional Info: Kauai County campground with weekly maintenance closure Wednesdays 10am to Thursday 12pm. Features pavilions, comfort stations, cold showers, picnic tables, and reef-protected beach suitable for swimming and snorkeling. Ground tents only; rooftop tents not permitted.

    Spent a week car camping around Kauai and this was by far the best place! Easy to book, cheap, safe, and beautiful! This area is basically a big grassy lawn by the beach, where you park and walk out to pitch your tent anywhere. Served as a great home base for exploring the North Shore!

    So chill… Nice grassy lawn to pitch a tent right by the beach. Some sites can be right on the water, and you’ll wake up to hear the waves crash.
