Upper Manistee River State Forest Campground
About this site
Rustic state forest campground along the Upper Manistee River, 7.7-8 miles southwest of Frederic via County Road 612 and Goose Creek Road. Offers 30-40 sites for tents, small trailers, and large trailers on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. Includes 10 walk-in tent sites and a group area for paddle-in or walk-in camping. Amenities: vault toilets, potable water from hand-pump well, fire rings, picnic tables. Excellent for paddling, trout fishing, and river access via footpath and staircase. Overnight fee $20 for most sites, 15-day max stay, one unit and six people per site. No electricity.
