UPPER MANISTEE RIVER BACKCOUNTY CAMPSITES (Camping Area) Additional Info: Primitive dispersed campsites along the Manistee River backwaters of Tippy Dam Pond between Tippy Dam and Hodenpyl Dam. Government Landing has 7 sites (5 on water, 2 higher ground); Red Bridge River Access has 4 walk-in sites. Sites include picnic table, fire ring, lantern hook. Vault toilets within walking distance. Boat ramps at both locations. No drinking water at Government Landing; available at Red Bridge. Open April 1–December 1. Reservations required Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
