Scheck's Place State Forest Campground

This lush, shaded campground sits on the banks of the Boardman River offering excellent paddling, fishing and bird watching opportunities. There are 30 sites for tent and small-to-medium trailer use. As a designated Blue Ribbon trout stream, the river offers unparalleled fishing opportunities, and its Natural River status ensures its continued preservation. This state forest campground is a stop along the Shore-to-Shore Trail, a 420-mile trail system open to hiking and horseback riding. Sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations. Vault toilets. Potable (drinking) water from a hand-pump well. No electrical available. Overnight fees ($20 for most sites) and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. One camping unit and six people are allowed per site.
