Miranda Pine Campground
About this site
MIRANDA PINES (Campground) Additional Info: Miranda Pine Campground sits atop Miranda Pine Mountain at approximately 4,000-4,085 feet elevation along the western flank of the Sierra Madre Mountains in Los Padres National Forest. The small, primitive campground features approximately 3-5 sites nestled among pine and oak trees with expansive vistas overlooking the Cuyama Valley. Basic amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets, but no potable water is available on-site. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit and is free to camp (though an Adventure Pass or Interagency Pass is required for day use and camping). The site requires packing out all trash as there are no trash cans. Campers should be prepared for strong winds that frequently sweep across the exposed ridgetop location. Access is via Highway 166 to Sierra Madre Road, then Miranda Pines Road. The campground serves as a trailhead for the McPhearson Peak Trail and Aliso Trail, making it popular with hikers and backpackers.
