Backcountry campsites along the Mountain Ash Creek Trail in Yellowstone National Park's southwest region near Union Falls. Accessible by hiking from the trailhead near Grassy Lake Dam. Permits required for all backcountry camping. Pets not allowed in backcountry except service animals. Additional Info: Several designated campsites near Mountain Ash Creek crossing and Union Falls trail junction. Low-impact sites with no fires allowed at some locations. Trails involve creek fords and feature waterfalls and thermal tributaries.
