Monty's Bay Campsites

Established in 1963 by Gerard and Sally Bechard, this family-owned campground features 125 campsites on the shores of Lake Champlain, located 12 miles south of the U.S.-Canadian border and 8 miles north of Plattsburgh, New York. The campground offers a quarter-mile of shoreline with views of the New York and Vermont landscapes. Amenities include full 30 amp hookup RV sites, tent sites, cabin rentals, a swimming pool, sandy beach, modern bathhouse with hot showers, laundry facilities, dump station, WiFi, general store, fire pits, and a convenience store. Activities include boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and volleyball. Gilbert Brook Marina, added in 1991, provides 168 boat slips, 102 boat moorings, and a boat ramp. Open May 1 to October 1. Located 4 miles from Interstate 87 exit 40.
