Buttermilk Falls State Park Campground is a small, forested campground located in Buttermilk Falls State Park near Ithaca, New York. The campground offers a mix of tent and RV sites as well as rental cabins, and provides access to hiking trails, waterfalls, and other park amenities. Additional Info: The campground has 25 tent and RV sites and 18 rental cabins. Sites are mostly back‑in and can accommodate vehicles or trailers up to about 20 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit; hookups are not available. Amenities include drinking water, clean restrooms, showers, a bathhouse, a picnic shelter, and a trash/recycling station. A trailhead in the campground provides walking access to the park’s trail network, viewpoints, playground, and ball fields. Dogs are allowed but must remain leashed and in pet‑friendly areas. The campground is typically open seasonally from mid‑May through early October.

We have a cabin for the week, the sites are not desolate as we like, and not quite grassy as the dogs would like, but so far everything has been great! The hiking and lake access is amazing. Sitting out the rain the other morning, all the vacant cabins’ smoke detectors were going off so we lost a small amount of peace there. Highly maintained sites, dug out fire pits with grates, and clean water access, purchasing access to the site in this park grants access/parking to all NYS parks during our stay, which is a huge perk for us, as we planned a lot of hiking and adventuring. Showers are clean and free to campers. Which is nice, we have had to pay for onsite showers elsewhere!
