Lower Twin Lakes Campground
About this site
Lower Twin Lakes Campground is located just 10 miles from Bridgeport, California at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Massive Jeffrey pines tower over the site, offering partial shade. Aspens, sagebrush, and summer wildflowers dot the site. Robinson Creek is adjacent, with good rainbow trout fishing. Numerous hiking trails are in the vicinity, including the popular Robinson Creek Trail. Generally open in late April to early October, weather and condition permitting. Additional Info: The campground contains 24 sites with picnic tables, food storage lockers, and fire rings with grills. Flush toilets, drinking water, and trash collection are provided. Roads and parking spurs are paved. Firewood is available for purchase from the host. A public boat ramp and beach are half-mile from the campground. Upper and Lower Twin Lakes are within walking distance, offering boating, canoeing, and fishing for Kokanee salmon and rainbow and brown trout. Reservations are available during peak season (mid-May to early-September); sites are first-come, first-served September 3 through early October, weather permitting. Dogs must be on a leash. A free California Camp Fire Permit issued by CalFire is required for campfire, barbecue, and portable stove use. Black bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers.
