Lower Saddle

Lower Saddle is a designated backcountry campsite in Grand Teton National Park, located between the Middle Teton and Grand Teton peaks. It serves as a popular base for climbers attempting to summit Grand Teton, accessible via a strenuous hike from Lupine Meadows Trailhead through Garnet Canyon, passing Petzoldt’s Caves and Moraines Camping Zone. A backcountry camping permit is required for overnight stays. Additional Info: Requires wilderness permit from NPS ranger stations. Pets not allowed. Season typically May-September. Involves scrambling and bear awareness.
