BACA (Campground) Additional Info: Historic site in Lincoln National Forest, formerly a CCC camp in the 1930s. Free dispersed camping area open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Vault toilets available. No water, electricity, picnic tables, or fire rings provided, though some rock circles for campfires exist. Accessible via Forest Road 57, approximately 10 miles east of Capitan, NM; road is gravel and suitable for tents, small trailers, and any vehicle but may be rutted or impassable in heavy rain/snow. Nearby spring may occasionally provide water; bring your own.
