Dowling Aquatic Base is located on the lower half of the Pecos River in Carlsbad and is dedicated to water activities and aquatic education. The facility offers tent camping in fields and provides instructional programs including canoeing, rowing, small boat sailing, swimming, and lifesaving. The camp is organized with dormitories and a galley and is situated a twenty minute drive from Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
