SPRINGTIME (Campground) Additional Info: Springtime Campground is located on the southeast edge of the Apache Kid Wilderness in the San Mateo Mountains of Cibola National Forest, at approximately 7,400 feet elevation. The campground features 6 campsites, each equipped with Adirondack-style shelters, fire pits, and picnic tables. A pit toilet is available. The site is accessed via Forest Road 225, a rocky and bumpy road requiring high-clearance vehicles. The campground is free, first-come, first-served, year-round. No potable water is available; visitors must bring their own water. Restrooms are not available. The area is popular with hikers, horseback riders, and hunters seeking access to Apache Kid Wilderness and San Mateo Peak Lookout trails. Pets are not allowed.
