Airport Flat Campground is a free, developed campground offered El Dorado National Forest. There are 16 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings and there are vault toilets. The campground is known for being located along Gerle Creek where people come up to go swimming. Additional Info: Located at 5,300 feet elevation in Eldorado National Forest near Gerle Creek. Features 15 individual sites and one group site in a pod layout, first-come first-served, no reservations or fees. Vault toilets available (only one open currently), picnic tables, fire rings, and bear boxes at sites. No potable water. Pets allowed on leash. Maximum 2 vehicles and 6 people per single site. Check-out at 1:00 PM. Maximum stay 14 days per district per year. Typically open June through October; currently closed for season.
