Woods Lake Campground
About this site
Woods Lake Campground is a tent-only campground near the summit of Carson Pass. At 8,200 feet, it is often the last to open each season. Woods Lake offers opportunities for fishing, swimming, paddleboarding, and non-motorized boating such as kayaking. Trails lead from the campground into Mokelumne Wilderness (free day permits required). Additional Info: The campground has 25 well-spaced campsites (23 single-family and 2 double-family sites) in Eldorado National Forest. It is free and first-come, first-served, typically open late June to mid-October. Amenities include vault toilets, piped drinking water, and fire rings. No showers, electric hookups, water hookups, or sewer hookups are available. Trailers are not recommended due to difficult road access. Cell service is not available.
