Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park Campground
About this site
Overview & Setting • The campground lies in a shady pine & oak forest setting, offering a quiet, wooded escape. • It has a separate entrance from the day-use areas. The entrance is off Graham Hill Road in Scotts Valley / near Santa Cruz. • From the campground, it’s about a 5-minute drive (or ~2-mile walk) to reach the Redwood Grove Loop Trail. • Also, the Observation Deck (at elevation ~805 ft) and a rare sandhills habitat are only about a half mile from the campground. • The campground has ~107 reservable sites for tents, RVs, and trailers. • Some online sources round that to ~113 sites. • Each site is generally equipped with a picnic table, fire ring / grill, and food locker. • The restrooms are flush toilets, and there are hot-water coin-operated showers. • There is no full RV hookup (i.e. no water/electric/sewer at sites). • Sites vary in length: trailers up to ~31 ft, RVs up to ~35 ft in some sites. • Many campers note that sites feel fairly private, with trees and vegetation between sites. • Maximum occupancy per site is typically up to 8 people. ⸻ Pricing & Reservation Details • The typical nightly rate is $35 for a standard campsite. • There is a $7 reservation fee (in addition to the nightly rate). • There is a “hike / bike‐in” site option (for visitors arriving on foot or by bicycle) priced around $7. • Check-in time is typically 2:00 PM, and check-out is noon. • Stay limits: you can stay up to 7 nights consecutively. • Within the Santa Cruz District, campers are typically capped at 30 nights total during a season. • Reservations are site-specific (you pick a particular site) and are strongly recommended, especially during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day). • The campground is sometimes seasonally closed (usually in fall/winter) due to weather or other conditions. • Cancellations or modifications should reference the official ReserveCalifornia system.

Amazing spot in the redwoods. Lots to explore, banana slugs galore. Fun camping site. Great mountain biking nearby
