WINTTURI SHELTER Additional Info: Wintturi Shelter is a backcountry shelter located on the Appalachian Trail in Windsor County, Vermont. The shelter is typically three-sided with a sloped roof and accommodates 6-10 people. It is first-come, first-served and free to use. During peak hiking season, shelters are usually full, so hikers are advised to bring a tent, tarp, or other backup shelter. The site is surrounded by forested terrain with elevation around 1,910 feet. Nearby attractions include the Appalachian Trail and Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park.
