GRIFFITH LAKE TENT AREA (Campground) Additional Info: Griffith Lake is a small lake and campsite located in the towns of Peru and Mount Tabor, Vermont, in the Green Mountain National Forest. The site lies on the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail. The area is maintained by the Green Mountain Club with an on-site caretaker during peak season who maintains tent sites, composting toilets, and trails. Numbered tent platforms and a lean-to shelter are available. During peak season, there is a $5 charge per night. The lake is stocked annually with brook trout. No safe water sources are available on-site; hikers must use water purification or boiling. Access is by foot only via walking/snowmobile trail; horses, motorized vehicles, and mountain bikes are not permitted.
