Wabasso Lake Campground
About this site
Wabasso Lake Recreation Area is a five-site walk-in and canoe-in campground located in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, approximately one mile west of Lac du Flambeau in northern Wisconsin. All five campsites are situated along the southeast shore of the 49-acre lake and are accessible only by foot or watercraft. Each site includes a tent area, fire ring, and picnic table with a capacity of 8 people per site. Amenities include accessible vault toilets and drinking water (hand pump) at the boat landing. The lake features crystal-clear waters with a sandy bottom and is surrounded by spruce, tamarack, hemlock, and pine forest. The lake is electric motor-only, making it ideal for canoeing and fishing. Sites #1 and #2 are waterfront with individual canoe landings. The campground is part of the Headwater Lakes State Natural Area and is pet-friendly (pets must be leashed in developed areas). Cost is $5 per night with a maximum 14-day stay limit.
