Upper Nye Camp is a small first-come, first-served camping area situated at 5,000 feet elevation in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near the South Yuba River State Park. The campground features 6 campsites with a maximum capacity of 8 campers per site. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and potable water. The area is surrounded by tall pine trees and offers access to recreational activities including hiking, fishing, and swimming. The campground is open seasonally from May to September. Nearby attractions include the historic town of Nevada City, Empire Mine State Historic Park, and Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park.
