Upper Box Creek Trailhead is located on a peninsula of Upper Box Creek Reservoir along FR068 at an elevation of about 8,890 feet in Fishlake National Forest. This is a dispersed camping area with vault restroom, picnic tables, fire rings, and natural surface dirt parking. No running water or electricity is available. The site offers fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking, horseback riding, and OHV riding on designated routes. Camping is free and first-come-first-served; visitors may stay up to 16 days without moving. The area is open June through November, 24 hours per day. All motorized travel is restricted to designated routes, and visitors must pack out all trash and follow leave-no-trace principles.
