Union Falls is a backcountry hiking destination in Yellowstone National Park featuring Yellowstone's second tallest waterfall at 260 feet, formed at the intersection of Mountain Ash Creek's converging forks. The hike from Cascade Creek Trailhead is approximately 16 miles (moderate to difficult difficulty). Multiple designated backcountry campsites (9U1, 9U2, 9U3, 9U4, 9U5, 9F1, 9F2) are available with advance reservation and permit; the first campsite is about 6 miles from the trailhead. Campsites feature campfire rings and bear food storage. A nearby thermal pool (Ouzel Pool/Scout Pool) offers swimming opportunities.
