Toquima Cave Campground

Toquima Cave Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. There are five campsites including one large group site. It's located along NF-001, about 6.4 miles west of the intersection with State Route 82 (Belmont Road), and about 30 miles from the town of Austin. Additional Info: Toquima Cave Campground is a small, primitive, free first-come first-served site at 7,900 feet elevation in Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. It offers 2-5 primitive campsites with vault toilets and picnic tables available, but no potable water. A half-mile trail with stone steps leads from the campground to Toquima Cave featuring ancient Shoshone pictographs. Access is via a rough 12-mile dirt road (NF-001). Open mid-May to late October as weather allows. Accommodates trucks, tents, and trailers up to 25 feet.
