Thorndike Primitive Campground is a free, first-come-first-served primitive camping area located in Death Valley National Park at 7,400 feet elevation. The campground features 6 primitive campsites accessible by high-clearance vehicles (no longer than 25'; 4x4 may be necessary). Each site includes a table, fire ring, and grate. Amenities include vault toilets but no running water or electricity. The forested setting provides cooler temperatures compared to lower elevations in Death Valley. Nearby attractions include the Telescope Peak trailhead, Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, and Badwater Basin. Pets are not allowed. The campground is seasonally available March through November.
