Sylco Campground
About this site
SYLCO CAMPGROUND Additional Info: This peaceful campground is located in an isolated area near the Big Frog Wilderness in Cherokee National Forest in the extreme southeastern corner of Tennessee. It offers 12 campsites with fire rings and picnic tables. The campground sits along the Conasauga River, providing excellent fishing opportunities and serving as a gateway to wilderness trails in the Big Frog Wilderness. Access to Sylco requires commitment—three different routes lead to the campground, all involving rough, remote roads that make it inaccessible to RVs and trailers. The 30-minute drive from paved roads to the campsites ensures solitude and a true backcountry experience. The campground is primarily used as a hunting camp in fall and sees very light use during the rest of the year. Due to the remote location and minimal facilities, campers must come completely self-sufficient with all supplies, water, and provisions. Basic vault toilets are available but may not be well-maintained. The Forest Service does not charge camping fees at Sylco.
