Sunrock High Adventure Base
About this site
Sunrock High Adventure Base, located at historic Camp Steiner in the Uinta Mountains of Utah, sits at 10,400 ft elevation on 80 acres adjacent to US Forest Service land. Divided into Camp Reid (10 campsites: 5 with Adirondacks, 5 tent sites) and Camp Hayden (12 campsites: 8 with Adirondacks, 4 tent sites). Adirondacks are historic 3-sided bunk houses housing 12-15 people each; sites have 1-3 Adirondacks plus space for leader tents. Tent sites accommodate 6-12 people. Each site provides access to potable water, portable toilets, picnic tables, and metal fire pits; some have rustic rock stoves from the 1940s. Groups provide own shade tents. Operated by The Sunrock Foundation under special use permit from Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
