South Manitou Island - Popple Campground

Popple Campground is located on South Manitou Island within Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, approximately 3.5 miles from the ferry dock. It offers 7 individual first-come, first-served tent-only sites near the beach in a remote wilderness area. Access is by ferry from Leland, Michigan, or private boat. A camping permit and park entrance pass are required. Campers must be self-sufficient. Additional Info: No potable water (bring filtration); vault toilets available; communal fire rings (down and dead wood only); no showers; sites limited to 4 persons and 2 tents; pets, bicycles, and wheeled vehicles prohibited in campgrounds and trails.
