Sir Donald Campground
About this site
Designated summer backcountry campground nestled below the impressive Mount Sir Donald and Uto peaks. 4 tent spots | Privy | Bear-proof storage. This is an ideal base camp for climbers, but the ground is rocky and no tent pads are present. Additional Info: Accessed via Sir Donald Trail (3.3 km, 1008 m elevation gain) from end of Illecillewaet Campground road, ~5 km west of Rogers Pass. Backcountry camping permit required, available first-come first-served at Illecillewaet Campground. Open July 1 - October 1 (snow dependent). Wood fires not permitted; gas stoves only.
