North Cascade River Campsite is located near the Cascade River in Minnesota, featuring forested terrain with river access. The site is located on the Superior Hiking Trail and can be reached by traveling approximately 5 miles west from the SHT Bally Creek Road trail system overnight lot on Bally Creek Rd/158, or parking on Pike Lake Rd/Cty Rd 45 in the SHTA overnight lot and hiking north slightly less than 1 mile. Remoteness, waterfalls, and steep slopes make care and advanced planning important. Temperatures range from lows in the 20s Fahrenheit during winter to highs in the 70s during summer. Nearby attractions include Cascade River State Park and the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior.
