About this site
Section 13 Campsite is a designated backpacking site along the Superior Hiking Trail near Silver Bay, Minnesota. It is accessed by hiking in via the SHT Section 13 Campsite Access Trail (187 ft) from parking on Lake County Road 6, approximately 2 miles north of Highway 61. The campsite is part of 94 SHTA-maintained backcountry sites with space for 2-5 tents, one fire ring, benches, and an open-air latrine near a natural water source (treat before use). No permits, fees, or reservations required; must be shared. Nine people maximum per site. Pack out garbage and follow Leave No Trace principles.
