North Gemini Lake State Forest Campground

Nestled on the shores of 120-acre Gemini Lake in northwest Schoolcraft County, this rustic campground offers a tranquil escape for fishing and paddling enthusiasts. Divided into two loops, it features 17 sites suitable for tents and small trailers, some with direct water access. A central boat launch makes launching kayaks and canoes easy. Plus, you're just five miles from the breathtaking Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. The operation of an ORV between the campground and nearby trails is allowed. Trail 8 is accessible from the campground. Explore Gemini Lake from the campground. Carry-in access is located approximately 10 yards from the parking area. This rustic campground is open all year; however, the campground and seasonal roads are not plowed. These rustic campgrounds offer stunning river and lakefront settings, perfect for fishing, boating, and paddling. Sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are vault toilets. Potable (drinking) water is available from a hand-pump well. No electrical available. Overnight fees ($20 for most sites) and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk at each campground. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. One camping unit and six people are allowed per site. Additional Info: 17 campsites in two loops (sites 1-9 and 10-17), many with lake access. Boat launch available. Loop with sites 10-17 typically closes in late September or early October.
