S Rock Camp 004 is a dispersed camping location situated in the Hyalite-Porcupine-Buffalo Horn Wilderness Study Area, part of the Custer Gallatin National Forest in southwestern Montana. The Wilderness Study Area encompasses rugged terrain in the Gallatin Range and stretches from the upper reaches of Hyalite Canyon toward Yellowstone National Park. Summer and early fall provide the best conditions for backcountry camping in this high-elevation area of Montana.
