Round Pond Rips is a set of rapids on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, located just after Round Pond (a wide section of the Allagash River). This is a remote backpack or boat-accessible area within the 20,000-acre Round Pond Public Reserved Land unit, popular for canoe trips, fishing, hiking to Round Pond Mountain, and hunting. Authorized campsites along the waterway feature tables, tarp poles, fireplaces, and shared outhouses, with camping permitted only at designated sites.
