Wooden Shelter approximately 4 miles from parking at Dick's Creek Gap Additional Info: Three-level platform shelter built in 1992 with U.S. Army Rangers assistance via helicopter. Capacity for 14 people. Features nearby campsites, a well-built privy, and a creek water source. Maintained by Georgia Appalachian Trail Club on USFS land. Free, no reservations required.
