Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area is a 1,927-acre recreation area near Palo, Iowa, featuring a 410-acre lake, three campgrounds with approximately 70 campsites, and four seasonal rustic pine log cabins. The campgrounds include electric and non-electric sites with two modern shower and restroom facilities. The recreation area offers nine miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling, as well as water activities including swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and scuba diving. Four boat ramps and a dedicated kayak launch provide water access. The area also features public hunting grounds, a swimming beach, picnic areas, and a dog trial area.
