Penokee Adirondack Shelter

Penokee Adirondack Shelter is a 3-sided Adirondack shelter located in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest along the North Country Trail, approximately 0.4 miles west of the Forest Road 604 Trailhead near Mellen, Wisconsin. The shelter is situated in a wooded setting of mature hardwoods and scattered evergreens and features a fire ring and grill. It is first come, first served with no reservation system. The nearest water source is Trout Brook, approximately 1.5 miles west of the shelter along the North Country Trail.
