Pat Springs Camp

Pat Springs Camp is a backpack camping area in Los Padres National Forest, Ventana Wilderness, located at approximately 3,700 feet elevation. The camp features multiple camp spots around Pat Spring, a reliable perennial water source. The site is sheltered enough for riding out storms, with excellent fair-weather views from nearby ridgeline areas. Pat Springs is accessible via several hiking routes: approximately 8.5 miles from Bottcher's Gap via Skinner Ridge Trail, about 7 miles from Bottcher's Gap via Ventana Double Cone Trail (with climbs over Skinner Ridge and Devil's Peak), and approximately 9 miles from Los Padres Dam via Big Pines Trail. The camp is popular with backpackers due to its reliable water source and scenic location within the Ventana Wilderness.
