Ozena Campground
About this site
Located in the southern portion of Los Padres National Forest along Lockwood Valley Road, Ozena Campground offers a remote camping experience in Ventura County. The campground sits at approximately 3,000-3,660 feet elevation, about 1.5 miles east of Highway 33, near the Ozena Fire Station and Ranger Station. The facility features 10-12 primitive campsites designed for tents and RVs up to 22 feet, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The campground serves as a convenient base for exploring the surrounding Mt. Pinos Ranger District, with access to nearby recreational areas including Reyes Creek, Camp Scheideck, and various off-highway vehicle trails. The Ozena Trailhead (23W42) near the fire station provides access to trails leading south toward Pine Mountain. The entrance road can be sandy and may require caution, particularly for larger vehicles. The surrounding landscape features a mix of high desert and mountain terrain typical of the Los Padres backcountry.
