Mt. Whitney Trailhead Campground

Mt. Whitney Trailhead Campground (also known as Trailhead or Ravine Campground) offers 25 walk-in, tent-only campsites within walking distance of the Mt. Whitney trailhead. All sites are first-come, first-served with a strict one-night stay limit. Each site includes a flat tent pad, fire grate, and bear-proof food storage locker. Piped drinking water and vault toilets are available nearby. Camping is prohibited in the parking lot. The campground is seasonal, typically open when Whitney Portal Road is accessible (May through November, weather dependent).
