Mixons Hammock Campsite is the furthest west campsite in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, accessible via the Brown Trail. It is an island campsite with ample space for hammocks and tents, a fire ring, and vault/pit toilet. Wilderness camping requires a federal permit. Campfire restrictions may be in effect. Additional Info: Located on an old railroad bed area. Distances: Stephen C. Foster State Park – 2 miles, Big Water – 13 miles, Canal Run – 9 miles, Floyds Island – 11 miles.
