About this site

Primitive camping is permitted on the earthen piers, but please take your trash with you. Today the Miami State Fishing Lake includes 101 acres of water bounded by about 150 acres of timbered hillsides and the Marais des Cygnes River. The lake and fishery was renovated in 2001. Renovation included removal of the existing fishery, habitat construction, and fish stockings. Initial stockings included largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and black crappie. A boat ramp, courtesy dock, fourteen earthen piers, and a vault toilet are available for lake users. Additional Info: Free primitive camping on 14 earthen piers, each with fire ring. Alcoholic liquor and cereal malt beverages prohibited.
