Merced Lake High Sierra Camp is the oldest, largest, and most remote of Yosemite's High Sierra Camps, established in 1916 on the eastern side of Merced Lake at 7,150 feet elevation. It offers 18 tent cabins with bunks (bring your own bedding), family-style breakfast and dinner, hot showers, flush toilets, laundry basins, and purified drinking water. Access is by foot or horseback via the 49-51 mile High Sierra Camp loop trail from Tuolumne Meadows. Reservations via annual lottery; rates $159/person/night including meals (2024 reference). Nearby primitive tent camping available with backcountry permit. Additional Info: Closed for 2024 season.
