Lower Box Creek Trailhead is the parking area and access point for the Lower Box Trail in Dixie National Forest. From Escalante, turn north on Hells Backbone Road (300 E). At 0.7 miles the road forks; stay right. After 3.5 miles the road turns to dirt (FR 153). At 7.4 miles turn right at the 'Lower Box Access' sign and drive 0.3 miles to the parking area. Follow the old road to the trailhead. The trail follows Pine Creek with multiple crossings; filter or treat all water.
