Lone Star Trailhead (OK1)

Lone Star Trailhead (OK1) is located just east of the Old Faithful development area and Kepler Cascades. It provides access to the Lone Star Geyser Trail, a relatively flat 5.4-mile (8.7 km) there-and-back trail following an old service road beside the Firehole River to Lone Star Geyser, which erupts up to 45 feet (13.7 m) approximately every three hours. Further trails accessible include Spring Creek Trail, Howard Eaton Trail, and Bechler River Trail. The trailhead features an information kiosk/bulletin board and vault/composting toilet. Additional Info: Trailhead serves as access point for backpacking to Lone Star Geyser and beyond into the southwest part of Yellowstone National Park.
