Leavitt Lake is a primitive, free dispersed camping area with about twelve basic sites featuring simple stone fire pits. Accessible only by high-clearance 4WD via Leavitt Lake Road (Forest Road 32077), a rough route with creek crossings and technical sections. Situated near Sonora Pass in rugged alpine terrain with lake views, popular for hiking into Hoover Wilderness and Pacific Crest Trail access. Strong winds common. No services including restrooms or water.
