LBJ Grasslands FR-904 #7
About this site
Nestled within the heart of North Texas, the Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) National Grasslands sprawl across a vast expanse of nearly 20,250 acres, offering a serene retreat for nature enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. Forest Road 904 provides a handful of boondocking sites, most notably the camping loop with 4-5 dispersed campsites. Two sites are large enough for RVs. The USFS has blocked off other areas along the road, but these sites remain open. Scenery includes open fields and beautiful old oak trees. As a boondocking area on federal land, it offers primitive camping with no electricity or water hookups. Campsites may have makeshift fire rings and pull-offs.

A number of great campsites, well spaced out, fire rings, safe and beautiful. Site #7 infested with copperheads as of 7/09/26. They come out after dusk, so don’t get yourself into a pickle and use a different site!
