This is a developed campground currently offered for free. It is technically on land owned by Sabine National Forest, but all surface management is handled by Sabine River Authority of Texas under a joint-use agreement. Previously, this campground required a fee, but in 2022 it was converted for free for an indefinite period. Additional Info: Indian Mounds Recreation Area is located on the 185,000-acre Toledo Bend Reservoir within Sabine National Forest. It offers 37 campsites for tents and travel trailers, each with a picnic table and campfire ring. The area features two boat ramps, portable toilets, and access to the adjacent Indian Mounds Wilderness Area. Managed by Sabine River Authority of Texas under special use permit with USFS.
