La Posa Tyson Wash Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA) is one of four LTVAs within the 11,400-acre La Posa area managed by BLM south of Quartzsite, Arizona, along Highway 95 and next to Tyson Wash. Open September 15 to April 15 for long-term winter visitors with permits. Offers solitude in desert landscape with hiking, wildlife viewing, rockhounding, and nearby petroglyphs. Amenities include vault toilets, water faucets, dry dump station, dump station with water, and trash services. No electric, water, or sewer hookups at sites. Additional Info: LTVA long-term permit $180 for up to 7 months; short-visit permit $40 for 14 days (renewable). Entrance 2.75 miles south of Quartzsite on Hwy 95.
